The Redmi Note 7 is a promising smartphone from Xiaomi, and the official teardown video proves its firm build quality. Another way with which the company wants to show that the phone is tough is by smashing it against a walnut. The video comes as an official post on Weibo by the president of Xiaomi, Lin Bin. And Hey! The video comes directly from Mi 8’s 960fps slow motion.
The video proves that the smartphone is so hard enough to smash the walnut into bits. Anyways, I would never like testing my smartphone against a walnut.
Another thing that the teaser might hint is the 960fps on the Redmi Note 7. Well, we already know that Xiaomi will soon push Night mode on the Redmi Note 7, but getting 960fps slow motion with Snapdragon 660 is insane. Just look at the fact that even the Snapdragon 846 SoC has no capabilities of pushing slow motion at this rate. Most of the smartphones use interpolation to achieve it along with much faster ISP to achieve it. The phones that come with a separate DRAM attached to the image sensor can pull off true 960fps for a short time.
For now, the Redmi Note 7 has officially sports 1080p @ 120fps and 720p @ 120fps. The Snapdragon 660 chipset officially supports up to 720p @ 480fps.
