Xiaomi Officially discontinues Android Updates on Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3

Xiaomi is now officially discontinuing the official support of Android updates on the Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3. These smartphones are already too old to get further updates. Xiaomi is still considering to release a stable build of the latest version of MUI Global ROM for both the handsets.

Xiaomi will dismiss the Beta team for both the smartphones in an upcoming final OTA for Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3. Sadly, the loyal users of both of these handsets are now sharing their sorrows on the MIUI official forums. The fans don’t feel happy about the scenario. Don’t feel sad as there are a lot of developers on Xda-forums that may take updates on these handsets to another 2-3 years.
