China Mobile is now holding an annual Partner Conference in Beijing. Xiaomi is attending the event, and the company demo’s the Mi Mix 3 smartphone with 5G connectivity and Snapdragon X50 modem. The usual specs sheet of the handset unveils a Snapdragon 855 chipset under the toe.
Next-gen modem from Qualcomm along with some in-house antenna switching technologies from Xiaomi will boost up to 2 Gbps download speeds on the Mi Mix 3 5G. The demo of the Mi Mix 3 shows us the handset browsing some web pages and playing videos.
Everything else about the smartphone will remain the same. The mechanical slider design will prevail, and also the screen-to-body ratio and a fingerprint scanner on the back panel. Also, the smartphone has a surprisingly capable camera setup with night mode and 960 fps video recording.
Xiaomi will partner China Mobile in the pre-commercial tests in China. The Mi Mix 3 5G will see its final launch in Europe in Q1 2019.
