Snapdragon 855-powered Xiaomi Mi 9 visits Geekbench

Xiaomi will unveil a new Redmi smartphone in two days, and it will get a 48MP camera setup. That’s not all that Xiaomi is planning to launch soon. Here are some details on the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone in-works. Xiaomi calls this smartphone to be Cepheus in codename, and the Geekbench scores show the handset running on the Snapdragon 855 SoC.

The codename Cepheus sounds familiar to the recent APK-teardown by
XDA. Following the evidence, we can expect the handset to arrive with a 48MP camera, an in-display fingerprint reader and an always-on display mode.

We expect that this is the upcoming flagship from Xiaomi. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is yet to go official, and it will take some time for the handset to go official. The Snapdragon 855 will go official on the Mi Mix 3 5G as well. But, we doubt the company on upgrading the optics on the Mix 3.

Anyways, the benchmarks show the handset running on Android 9 Pie. Also, the handset supports 6GB of RAM, and the benchmarks score are on par with the Snapdragon 855 SoC.
