We know that Xiaomi is planning for its new Youth edition of the Mi 8 smartphone. Earlier, we’ve got the spec leak of the new handset a lot of times. Now, we know the model number of this new handset. The model number is M1808D2TE, and it will go live in Chengdu on September 19 at the official event. At the unveiling event, we will get to know about the official naming of the handset. For now, we know that the smartphone can be called as Mi 8X, Mi 8 Youth Edition, or Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition.
The official invite from Xiaomi
For the specs of this new handset, it includes a tall 6.26-inches display with a Full HD+ resolution and a notch. The handset will bear a Snapdragon 710 chipset, to ensure all the tasks get done faster and snappier. The handset will have a dual camera setup on the back, that is likely a 12+5MP camera configuration. For selfies, the smartphone will get a 24MP camera in front.
We expect Xiaomi to price this handset anyplace between the Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE. We’ve seen in leaks, that the handset lacks a physical fingerprint scanner. That makes way for an in-display fingerprint scanner for this new handset. All these things will get clear once Xiaomi officially unveils the handset in China.
