New reports from analysts at Canalys reveals that Xiaomi tops to be the most selling smartphone company in India in Q3 2018. Well, Xiaomi retains its place to be No. 1 for the fifth consecutive quarter. According to the reports, Xiaomi leads the market with a 27% market share.
Besides that, Xiaomi shot up with a record 12 million smartphones shipped. Well, this account’s to 32% jump over the numbers from Q3 last year. Besides that, Samsung has seen a slight decline in sales in Q3 of this year. The present 23% market stays with Samsung and, the 10% market share is with vivo. Besides that, Vivo has shipped 4.5 million units this year, that accounts for 12% growth of the company.
Surprisingly, Micromax makes the fourth position in the market with 9% market share. Besides that, with this, the company has seen 62% growth with 5x increase on comparing with the Q2 sales. The Micromax presence in the list is a surprise to us. We’ve seen no major smartphone release from the company this year. For a simple explanation, the company won a contract with the state government of Chhattisgarh, India. Micromax, along with Reliance Jio, distributed over 5 million smartphones to women and students in an ambitious plan to make the citizens more connected. Well, we expect Micromax to fall back in next quarter.
Oppo is taken down to the fifth position with just 8% market share. Besides that, the Young Realme is growing quickly with under 2% market share right now. With 800,000 units shipped in Q3, it will soon surpass other small companies in the listing
Besides that, OnePlus is now the fast-growing brand in India for the INR 25,000-40,000 segment smartphones. OnePlus has one of the highest customer satisfaction rates, and this accounts to a customer retention rate (88%) for the company in India.
