After opening Mi Store in India back in 2017, Xiaomi kept expanding its network little by little. The latest advancement from the company is a big one. Xiaomi announced the opening of 500 stores simultaneously, setting a Guinness World Record.
Interestingly, the company announced it in an official event on October 29, the things needed the clearance from GWR, before announcing the achievement. Xiaomi makes a tweet in its Indian Twitter handle and explains that the expansion is a part of a “New Retail” model for India. According to the company, it aims to provide “flagship store experience” to customers in rural areas.
Also, the company is now planning to open 5,000 new brick-and-mortar stores by 2019. These stores will employ over 15,000 people across India.

Sadly, these 500 stores are still away from the reach of villagers in India. These people have to still rely on Online stores, but the things might change by the end of 2019.
