Although the phone lacks the powerful soc and FHD+ resolution from the Redmi Note 7 Pro, it gains a lot in other departments. Starting with the deal breakers on this phone, it packs an AMOLED panel up on the front. However, it’s a 5.4cm (6.08″) HD+ Super AMOLED Display which features a wide color gamut resulting in vibrant true-to-life images. Don’t think that there’s something wrong with this panel. The display has got an incredibly high contrast ratio along with lesser light refraction. Whatsmore, the phone is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 on the front.

7th Gen In-screen fingerprint sensor.

More importantly, there’s a reason behind implementing an AMOLED panel on the Mi A3. Well, the phone packs in a 7th Gen In-screen fingerprint sensor for an Enhanced unlocking accuracy. The pixel size on this sensor is of up to 7.2μm to unlock your phone in any situation. Apart from the in-display fingerprint reader, there also exists an AI Face Unlock. In my opinion, I love the versatility of having Face and Screen Unlock both at the same time. Besides, both of these methods are quick enough to unlock the Mi A3, where the in-display fingerprint reader is a more secure method.

Our Opinion!

In the opinion of members at Heapooh, the Mi A3 is the best Android One device available on the market right now. While the pricing is aggressive, the features have no compromise. The stock Android Pie experience on the phone with three years of updates makes the phone a worthy buy. Although the Realme 5 Pro has got better specifications on the paper, the stock experience on the Mi A3 is a win-win situation. Again, the Android One game is a win by Xiaomi. However, we expect the company to continue bringing stock phones like this one in the market while pricing it as aggressive as the Mi A3.

SUMMARY

The Mi A3 shines as the most elegant looking Android One smartphone in the market. While it carries stock Android experience, a tremendous battery, in-display fingerprint reader, and capable cameras, it feels short of performance and a higher screen resolution. We hope that Xiaomi is listening to its customers, and the company will bring back a higher screen resolution and better cameras in the next generation of Mi A-series.
