Samsung Galaxy A8s is available for pre-orders – costs under $450


Samsung Galaxy A8s is the first commercially available smartphone that has an in-display camera sensor. The handset is now available for pre-order on It is available in one storage options. Currently, the handset is available in 6/128GB storage option and sets you back at CNY2,999, or under $450.

Samsung Galaxy A8s Specifications

The Infinity-O display on the Galaxy A8s measures 6.4″ in diagonal and has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels with a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio. About the hole on the screen, it measures 6.7mm wide and features a 24MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The handset runs on Snapdragon 710 SoC and comes in either 6/8GB of RAM. The internal storage remains the same at 128GB. Moreover, you can expand the internal storage up to 512GB more with a microSD card slot. The smartphone has Android Pie out of the box with customized UI for the Chinese market.

Speaking about the optics on the Galaxy A8s, it features a triple camera arrangement on the back. The primary camera over here is a 24MP sensor with a large f/1.7 aperture and the secondary camera is a 10MP telephoto lens with the f/2.4 opening. The third camera on the handset is a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture, for creating artificial bokeh. As for the front-facing camera, it’s 24MP with f/2.0 aperture. The fingerprint reader is right there as well.

The Samsung Galaxy A8s carries a whopping 3,400 mAh battery, and it supports adaptive fast charging technology over the USB-C port. Sadly, the handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, with no words on the Android Pie update in the nearing future.

Samsung will embark the sales of the Galaxy A8s on December 31. The sales will commence in offline and online markets, and it will feature the 8/128GB variant as well. The handset will be available in Blue, Aurora Black, and Alien Silver colors, and early adopters can avail free power banks, holders and JD vouchers.
