Poco F1 with SD 845, Liquid Cooling, 4000 mAh Battery Unveiled in India: Starts at Rs 20,999


    Pocophone is the new sub-brand of Xiaomi. Today was the launch event for a new handset by the company. The company made the Poco F1 official during the same launch event, held today in New Delhi. Xiaomi never had a grasp on premium segment smartphones in India. Besides that, with this new sub-brand Pocophone, the company has a chance to win the Premium smartphone segment market.

    You can purchase the Oppo F9 starting at Rs 20,999 in India. At this price, it’s the most capable and the fastest smartphone on the market. The smartphone comes in 3 different configurations and comes in Steel Blue, Rosso Red, and Graphite Black. There will be a 6GB + 64GB base variant that retails for Rs 20,999. Besides that we’ve got a 8GB + 256GB for Rs 28,999 and a Special Kevlar edition with a whopping 8GB + 256GB configuration retailing for Rs 29,999. You can purchase the smartphone via Flipkart Exclusive and Xiaomi’s Mi stores across the country starting 11th September.


    The Poco F1 runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, with the new Poco Launcher in tow. The new app drawer has a ton of features and customizations such as hidden apps, third-party icon support, and group icons by color.



    The Poco F1 is a dual sim smartphone. It powers a massive 5.99-inch Full-HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) IPS LCD display, with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, we’ve got an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC. Besides that, there is 6GB or 8GB of RAM, depending on the variant purchased. There is also an inbuilt 64Gigs/256Gigs of storage with up to 256GB microSD card support in hybrid configuration. The Poco phone looks just like another Mi8 from the front. It has the same IR Face Unlock Hardware like the Mi8. The notch is enormous and features an earpiece, camera modules, and IR sensors. The handset has a polycarbonate body and, has a tiny chin at the bottom of the display. The company has to offer a premium kevlar build just like the Oneplus 6.

    Besides all that, we have a 4,000mAh battery to power all these things up. An 18W charger will deliver quick charging capabilities, thanks to Quick Charge 3.0. For the biometrics, we’ve got a regular fingerprint scanner at the back and as well a facial unlock feature. The smartphone has no IP rating on board, but you do get liquid cooling tech on board for 300% faster heat transfer, and much-improved graphics performance.


    The Poco F1 comes with a dual camera setup on the rear. The primary camera is a 12MP shooter bearing a f/1.9 aperture and large 1.4µm sensor. The sensor is a Sony made IMX 363 and has dual pixel and PDAF capabilities. The secondary camera is a Samsung made a 5MP sensor for depth sensing. The Selfie shooter on this smartphone has to offer a 20MP camera for your selfie cravings. Both the cameras offer scene recognition (206 scenes over 25 categories), AI portraits (with options to switch between normal, backlit, and silhouette) and more.


    For connectivity, the Poco F1 include 4G VoLTE (dual-VoLTE), Bluetooth 5.0 LE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WI-Fi Direct, a 3.5mm headphone jack and GPS/ A- GPS integration to it. The handsets support USB Type-C charging port, following the new standards.
