Oppo will join Samsung and Huawei with a foldable smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2019. These are not rumors, and the confirmation comes straight from Oppo’s Product Manager Chuck Wang.
While wang didn’t deliver on the internal specification of the foldable smartphones, he declares that Oppo will release its first phone with a display cutout in 2020. Also, the company aims to deliver 5G smartphones in 2020.
We expect all major brands to focus on foldable smartphones in 2019. While Samsung has already showcased its iFinity Flex solution, all major brands will follow Samsung’s suite at the MWC in February.
We expect LG to become the first smartphone manufacturer to showcase foldable smartphones at CES 2019 in January. Also, Xiaomi can come up soon with a folding display soon with decent pricing.
