OnePlus 6T is one of those 2018 flagships that will come with the in-display fingerprint scanner. Now, we all know that the fingerprint scanners on the OnePlus smartphones have always been lightning fast. But, now looking at the latest saying from Carl, the OnePlus 6T will come with an Optical fingerprint scanner. Now, if you’re not aware the Optical fingerprint scanners are slower than the ultrasonic sensors.
Further, this doesn’t mean that the Optical fingerprint scanners are bad. As, if done right, the optical fingerprint can be just as fast. In comparison, the Ultrasonic fingerprint readers can reach ridges and pores establishing a more complete 3D image of your fingertip.
Lastly, looking down at the past history of OnePlus, the company shares a lot of tech with Oppo and Vivo. So, we assume that the OnePlus 6T will carry the same fingerprint scanner from the vivo NEX S. And, if this is the case then it might end up pretty unreliable and slow at times. Now, OnePlus can bring a revised version of the fingerprint scanner. And, even the fast and reliable Oxygen OS can create a difference.
So, right now we’re just speculating the reliability of the Optical UD sensor inside the OnePlus 6T. And, a lot of things will go official on the October 30 event.
