Today, Nokia signs a multi-year patent licensing deal with the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Oppo. Samsung did also make a similar deal with Nokia a few weeks ago. Now, Oppo joins the agreement, under a five-year contract. Also, Xiaomi and Huawei are under an agreement of using Nokia’s intellectual property in the next five years.
The company didn’t try to convince us with details on the agreement. It seems like Oppo will now rely on the biggest license holder in the mobile world, for connectivity patents.
Nokia Technologies state that “Oppo is one of the leaders in the smartphone industry. Nokia is certainly happy to signs Oppo as a licensee. Further, this agreement validates the global licensing program of Nokia.
