The Nokia Series 40 phones no longer support Whatsapp. The support for the social media platform came to an end on December 31. The company is now sending a reminder to the WhatsApp users on Nokia Series 40 phones in the market. The support for the Symbian S60 came to an end in mid-2017, and now the S40 comes to a halt.
Nowadays, Nokia is using a mix of the platform for its feature phones. While some of the Nokia feature phones run on Series 30 (or 30+), others run Kai OS (8110 4G), or Yun OS (3310 4G). WhatsApp for Kai OS devices will continue to be in existence like the iPhones and Androids in the markets.
But hey! That’s not all, WhatsApp will soon end its official support on Android phones running v2.3.7 Gingerbread or older as well as iPhones running iOS 7 or older. For now, you can create a new account on these platforms, but the support will end on February 1, 2020. The support for this social platform in Blackberry OS and Windows Phone 7 handsets were dropped in 2017.
