Nokia 8.1 is firing up the rumor mills again, and this time it shows a radical change in the design. The leaks come from a famous leakster @OnLeaks and show a camera hole display. With that said, HMD may drop the Notch-display in favor of a punch hole camera.
The smartphone measures identical to the Nokia 8.1 without the Plus moniker. The screen measures 6.22″ diagonally, and renders FHD+ resolution. The dimensions on the handset are almost the same with 156.9 x 76.2 x 7.9mm, the current non-Plus model is 154.8 x 75.8 x 8mm.
The smartphone won’t get five-camera setup on the rear like the Nokia 9. But, the extra real estate on ht front will be the wow factor on the handset. The Nokia 9 may also go a design change with a punch hole camera display on the front.
The Nokia 8.1 Plus won’t get the fancy under-display fingerprint reader. There will exist a normal circular fingerprint reader on the rear. Under the hood, we expect a Snapdragon 710 SoC, and we may also see up to 6GB of RAM.
The Nokia 8.1 will bear a USB-C port on the bottom. The company will also push a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the handset. The bottom firing speaker sits next to the Type-C port.
