Nokia 6.1 Plus launched in India

Nokia is sure the most loved brand in India. We all wait for the new Nokia smartphones and the Nokia 6.1 Plus, is no exception here. Now, after sending the press invites for a launch event in India on August 21, we’ve some more information. Flipkart has now, released a trailer on their website for the launch event. Besides that, it features top musicians Shankar, Ehsaan, and Loy. The video doesn’t name that which smartphone is releasing, but we’re expecting a global variant of Nokia X6.

Now, the Flipkart teaser hints at the partnership between the two brands Nokia and HMD. The teaser starts with a melody from Ehsaan and Loy. Then Shankar joins, by singing the iconic Nokia tune in the teaser. The teaser confirms an August 21, Flipkart exclusive launch for a Nokia smartphone. Besides that, we have seen Nokia X6 in HongKong with a Nokia 6.1 Plus branding to it. There it is priced at HKD 2,288 (approximately Rs. 20,100).


There is a point about this smartphone that makes it distinct from the rest of the competition. That is the Android One program powering the software experience of this new Smartphone from Nokia. That means we’ll get more optimized Android experience with quick version updates. Out of the box, we’ll get Android 8.1 Oreo, with the Android P support to accompany soon.


The Nokia 6.1 plus is a dual sim smartphone. It powers a large 5.8-inch full-HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. That means it comes with a notch and the Display comes with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. Under the hood, we’ve got an Octa-core CPU powered by Qualcomm. This CPU is none other than the Snapdragon 636, coupled with 4Gigs of RAM. There is also an inbuilt 64Gigs of storage that is expandable via microSD card slot. Besides all that, we have a 3060mAH battery to power all these things up. An 18W charger will deliver up to 50 percent of charge in 30 minutes, thanks to Quick Charge 3.0. For the biometrics, we’ve got a regular fingerprint scanner at the back and as well a facial unlock feature.


The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a dual camera setup on the rear. The primary camera is a 16MP shooter, and the pairing sensor is a 5MP monochrome sensor, sporting a f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixels. The Selfie shooter on this smartphone has to offer a 16MP camera with the same f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixels. Nokia has to offer their unique Bothie feature to utilize both front and rear cameras simultaneously. Nokia further grants AI features to boost the colors and accuracy with AI-scene detection.


For connectivity, the Nokia 6.1 Plus include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi ac, a 3.5mm headphone jack and GPS/ A- GPS integration to it. The Nokia 6.1 plus supports a USB Type-C port, and weighs 151grams.
