    Nokia 5.1 Plus is now official. Today, the company made the Nokia 5.1 Plus official along with the Nokia 6.1 Plus in a New Delhi event. We know that the Nokia 6.1 Plus costs for INR 15,999 in India, but Nokia has given no pricing details on the Nokia 5.1 Plus. Besides that, the smartphone will be available via Flipkart and Nokia online retail store starting from September. The handset is a global variant of the Nokia X5 from China. Like other global variants, this one also supports Android One Program. So, the software updates will be prominent on this smartphone.

    Nokia 5.1 Plus price, release date

    Nokia has not shared any information on the pricing of Nokia 5.1 Plus in the Launch event. Besides that, the company recalled the EUR 199 (nearly Rs. 15,900) global pricing excluding taxes and subsidies. The smartphone will go on sale starting September in India. We’ve got different variants painted in Gloss Black, Gloss White, and Midnight Gloss Blue color variants.

    The Nokia 5.1 Plus comes along Android One Program. That means we’ll get more optimized Android experience with quick version updates. Out of the box, we’ll get Android 8.1 Oreo, with the Android P support to accompany soon.

    The Nokia 5.1 plus is a dual sim smartphone. It powers a large 5.86-inch HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. That means it comes with a notch and the Display comes with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. Under the hood, we’ve got a Mediatek Helio P60 processor. The SoC has four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.

    The CPU is coupled with 3Gigs of RAM. There is also an inbuilt 32Gigs of storage that is expandable via microSD card slot. Besides all that, we have a 3060mAH battery to power all these things up. An 18W charger will deliver up to 50 percent of charge in 30 minutes, thanks to Quick Charge 3.0. For the biometrics, we’ve got a regular fingerprint scanner at the back and as well a facial unlock feature.


    The Nokia 5.1 Plus comes with a dual camera setup on the rear. The primary camera is a 13MP shooter with a f/2.0 aperture, and the pairing sensor is a 5MP depth sensor. The Selfie shooter on this smartphone has to offer an 8MP camera with the same f/2.2 aperture and 80.4-degree wide-angle lens. Nokia has to offer their unique Bothie feature to utilize both front and rear cameras simultaneously. Nokia further grants AI features to boost the colors and accuracy with AI-scene detection.

    For connectivity, the Nokia 6.1 Plus include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi ac, a 3.5mm headphone jack and GPS/ A- GPS integration to it. The Nokia 5.1 plus supports a USB Type-C port and has generation 2 capabilities to it. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.
