iPhones in 2021 will keep the Face ID, and the resurrect Touch ID


Apple believes in evolving their iPhones slowly. In reality, the company perfects the technology before putting it into the hands of their consumers. In like manner, the iPhones in 2021 will carry a handful of new features. Today, the renowned analyst “Ming-Chi Kuo” makes a bold prediction. According to him, not only the iPhones in 2021 will keep the Face ID, but also resurrect Touch ID. Better late than never, the future iPhones might finally get the under-display fingerprint scanner technology.


What about 2019 and 2020 iPhones?

Although we are two years away from this real innovation, we know that the final products will be worth the wait. For now, the 2019 iPhones will be a massive camera upgrade. For the 2020 iPhones, it will all be about the boost in data speeds with 5G connectivity.

In-display Touch ID complications

Apple is already working hard to tackle the current issues in implementing under-display Touch ID. The company has to think of issues like Power consumption, size of the sensing area, the thickness of the module and the production yield rate of the lamination process.


What to conclude?

We expect Apple to use the secure ultrasonic fingerprint technology from Qualcomm in their 2021 iPhones.
