Instagram is feeling a bit slow from past few days, and even users were reporting some issues with there account. Now we think that all these things were to do with the new update on Instagram. We think that the company was testing changes on the platform.
Over the next several weeks, you may see features re-arranged at the top of your profile including changes to icons, buttons, and the way you navigate between tabs, which we hope will make profiles easier and cleaner to use.
Today, Instagram makes the new update official and is now rolling out to the users. Interestingly, now we get rid of some of the icons on profiles and get a literal text instead. I guess it makes the experience more understandable. The new design shifts around the appearance of profiles. The profile icon is now on the right and follower count is no longer at the very top. Otherwise, Instagram is phasing out the post count from the profile view. The description is also placed directly to the left of the profile icon.
Interestingly, the way you view the follower’s profile also seems to be different. There is now a new dedicated tab for mutual friends, and a list of accounts followed by that profile.
We’ve been working on these changes and will test them in phases and different combinations with our community over the next several weeks. We’ll continue to experiment and update the experience as we learn from your feedback.
Note that Instagram is still testing the layout and the things will keep shifting till the company settles down on a final design. Users are already experiencing the changes. Well, we adore the redesign and hope that the company soon settles down with the final one.
