Huawei P30 Pro may feature a Sony IMX607 camera sensor as the primary snapper. The news comes from a Weibo user, who appears to know a lot about the camera sensors. We can trust the source as it has always been reliable.
The Sony IMX607 camera sensor is a 38MP 1/1.8″ camera sensor, and it has an identical approach to the IMX600 sensor that we found in the last years Huawei P20 Pro. Additionally, the new sensor adds an array of white pixels in addition to the RGB ones. The sensor doesn’t rely on the Quad Bayer technology. Instead, it has a Dual Bayer with a white HDR Coding array.
The current Sony IMX600 sensor inside the Mate 20 Pro and the P20 pro uses two of the color pixels for long exposures and combines it with the two of the short exposures to provide with an improved dynamic range.
We can expect the new camera arrangement to use the white pixels to capture more light for better details and sharpness. Well, it means there will be no need for the black and white sensor. Also, it will help in bringing out exceptional low-light photography. The Quad Pixel Phase Detection Auto Focus (QPDAF) will ensure speedy autofocus.
Rest, the other camera specifications ensures high-SNR for better low -light photography. Also, it will reduce the chroma noise reduction. The camera sensor has a native ISO of 50/500/5000, and it is made to perform the Night Life photography.
These documents are too early to be the exact information. We will keep our eye on Huawei and Sony for more information on this matter.
