The Huawei P Smart got official in the first half of 2018. While the handset was convincing at the time of launch, it aged rapidly due to its weak Kirin 659 chipset. I mean, the handset did check plenty of boxes for a sub-$300 categories, but the competition has become hard in past 6-7 months.
Today, we’ve got to see the rumors for the Huawei P Smart 2019, and these rumors come from a German tech website WinFuture. The leaked images show the smartphone with a waterdrop notch and a dual-camera setup with “AI camera” branding.
Now with that said, we expect some serious AI features coming to this mid-range from Huawei. The ground for expecting so high from this smartphone is the AI loaded Kirin 710 SoC featuring the Huawei P smart. Well, it will be a huge step up from the admittedly old Kirin 659 SoC.
Another highlight of the Huawei P Smart 2019 will be the waterdrop notch on a 6.2-inch full HD+ LCD screen. Well, it seems like waterdrop notches are quickly replacing the standard notch. Other specifications on the handset will include 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage. Also, a 3,320mAh battery will keep the smartphone alive for a single day. The website also suggests it could offer micro USB connectivity and a 250 euro price tag.
Looking at the competition, we expect that the final price tag lives up to our lofty expectations.
