Huawei Mate 20 & Mate 20 Pro cases confirm no 3.5mm headphone jack

Huawei Mate 20 and ate 20 Pro are nearing their official launch on October 16. As we are getting closer to the official launch we are getting to see more and more leaks about the handset. Today, we’ve got to see, new cases for both smartphones confirm a variety of other design choices.

The rear of both the smartphones, share the same overall design, with a square-shaped camera in the middle. The camera arrangement will house a triple-sensor layout and a dual-tone LED flash. The main difference in the physical appearance is the presence of a circular finger-print scanner on the Huawei Mate 20. The Mate 20 being a cheaper offering will not offer an in-display fingerprint scanner. On the other hand, the Mate 20 Pro will house an integrated fingerprint scanner into the display of the handset.

The case reveals the positioning of the power button and a volume rocker button on the right side of the metallic frame. Both the handsets will have an additional IR blaster and a microphone resting on the top of the chassis. The bottom half of both the handsets have minor changes to it. Both the handsets have a USB Type-C port and a microphone towards its left. The regular Mate 20 seems to have bottom-firing speakers on the right, but this is missing from the Mate 20 Pro. Instead, the Mate 20 pro boasts a third microphone for advanced recording capabilities on the smartphone. The missing speaker will have some other implementation and most probably the main earpiece will double as a speaker. The case further confirms that the Mate 20 Pro will have no headphone jack. On the other side, the Mate 20 will include two cutouts at the top, one for the 3.5mm headphone jack and one possibly for an infrared sensor.

So, mark the date, and be ready for the official event on October 16 in London. Sales will begin roughly two weeks later. It is also rumored that the Mate 20 Porsche Design will also be revealed the same day. So, do you think that the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro offer some innovation?
