Huawei claims the Kirin 980 to be faster than Apple’s A12 Bionic chip

Huawei is one of the fastest growing industries in the Smartphone market. This one is the first company to announce a 7nm SoC to the world. Huawei introduced its latest flagship SoC Kirin 980 at IFA 2018. The first Android smartphones that will run on this chipset will be the Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro, coming on October 16.

Now, Huawei claims the chipset to be faster than the Apple’s A12 Bionic chip. The statement was made by Huawei during a small event in Dubai, where the company’s representatives claim Kirin 980 to be faster than the chips we find in the latest trio of iPhones – iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR.

Besides, the reason that Huawei is so sure in the Kirin 980’s success is the three-year development process that SoC went through. The Kirin 980 will be a combination of Power, Efficiency, Intelligence, and connectivity. The chipset uses 6.9 billion transistors that are in line with Apple’s latest hip.

While technically Kirin 980 is the first 7 nm chipset, but Apple’s A12 Bionic reached the market much sooner. It’s interesting that how fast Huawei is catching up with these big manufacturers in terms of performance. So, are you excited to see Kirin 980 performing in the Mate 20 series?
