HTC is really bad at the software updates. Generally, the updates are not timely, and most of the times the handsets never get an update. Now, with that said the HTC U12+ units in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa are finally receiving a new update. Now, this by no means an Android Pie update and weighs at 160MB. The update reads S/N 1.30.401.2, and it brings mostly system optimizations and bug fixes. Also, the security patch now reads September 2018.

HTC U12+ is now receiving a new system update

So, if you own an HTC U12+, you can check for the OTA updates. Rest, the update doesn’t specify the exact list of improvements or a short changelog. But, you can expect minor improvements in the overall functionality of the smartphone.

Lastly, the HTC U12+ is one of four smartphones from this Taiwanese company, that will get Android Pie. Rest, we have HTC U11+, HTC U11 or HTC U11 Life with Android One in line. But, for now, we don’t know any official timeframe for the arrival of Android Pie on these handsets.
