Google has a high reputation when it comes to cameras in a smartphone. Google Pixel 3 is no exception with a single camera lens put up on the rear. Today, DxOMark Labs published the review of the 12MP shooter on the back of the Pixel 3. The smartphone ranks as the best single-camera shooter on the DxOMark. With an overall score of 101, the Pixel 3 shares fifth spot in the rankings of a smartphone with the Apple iPhone XR.
The breakdown of the scores accounts to 103 scores for photos and 98 scores for video recording. According to DxOMark labs, the smartphone covers high dynamic range, and it preserves a lot of detail in all situation. The flash performance in photos is phenomenal with low-noise and efficient stabilization in video.

The reason for low scores on the Pixel 3 is the luminance noise and color shading in low light images. The same conditions prevail in shooting some artifacts along with some random ghosting in good light.
Google didn’t fail this time in making another great camera smartphone. Note that DxOMark scores didn’t include Night Sight. Anyways, the feature is phenomenal and reviewers are already praising the smartphone as the best one in making Nightlife photography exceptional.
