We’ve seen the Google Pixel 3 XL teardown from iFixit. And, the Google handset scored poorly with 4/10 rating. Now, we’ve got another teardown on the smaller Google Pixel 3. Well, the scores haven’t changed suggesting you’ll probably need to resort to a specialist if it comes to repairs.
Further, we’ve got a video from iFIxit for the disassembly steps. And, the complete article will come out soon from the company. Now, speaking on the Google Pixel 3, this smartphone has a few minor changes from its larger sibling.
With that said, the smartphone has plenty of adhesive for the water resistance. And, you still need the T3 Torx screwdriver for the whole process. The screen replacement is a huge deal on this smartphone as it now requires gluing and un-gluing the panel. The back glass on the handset is fragile. And, it picks up the scratches very easily. Those are the main reasons why iFixit gave the phone 4/10.
Teardown Update: After finding a Samsung-made OLED display in the larger #Pixel3XL, we dissected the display in our vanilla #Pixel3. Surprise—it's from LG Display! https://t.co/E832d27nsk pic.twitter.com/kbi341ryKc

Well, the main part of the discussion is the Display on the Pixel 3. Now, unlike the Pixel 3 XL’s Samsung display, the smaller Pixel adopts an LG-made OLED panel. Now, this scenario is the opposite in the last year Pixels, where the smaller Pixel 2 had a Samsung made the panel. And, the larger pixel had a P-OLED display made by LG. We hope the LG display will be on par with the Pixel 3 XL’s excellent Samsung OLED.
