Apple’s next big event will take place on September 12, at the Steve Jobs Theater. Apple is teasing the headlines saying, Gather round, and that is likely because of round auditorium. We are expecting a lot from Apple at this event that is about to take place within the grounds of Apple’s Cupertino Headquarters. Here’s what we’re expecting from the three new mainstreams of 2018 iPhones:
Three new iPhones
Apple iPhones 2018 event will be all about upgrades, rather than a big upgrade from the last event. Apple will bring up on stage the three new upgraded models from the last generation iPhone X. We’ve got multiple reports that confirm these three iPhone that Apple will be launching this year:
1. iPhone XS
As the name suggests the iPhone XS will be an “S” upgrade over the last generation iPhone X. We expect the handset to arrive with a 5.8-inch OLED display, dual cameras, and same old glass aluminum design. We even expect better camera’s, Face ID 2.0, and a beefy A12 bionic chip inside. Apple may put a larger battery inside to ensure a day’s battery life. The fast charger inside the box is still a mystery to get close to be true.
2. iPhone XS Max
The iPhone XS, in turn, will replace the Present iPhone 8 Plus models. Apple is likely to fit a 6.5-inch OLED display in the footprints of the older iPhone 8 Plus. The iPhone XS will just be a Max variant of the iPhone XS with similar design and specifications. There will be a glass sandwich design with a stainless steel frame and an A12 bionic chip inside. Except for a larger battery and a huge screen, rest remains same with the iPhone XS.
3. iPhone XC
The last one is likely to be the most popular iPhone of 2018. We expect the iPhone XC to be cheaper with iPhone XS like hardware specifications. That means we expect the iPhone XC to have an A12 chip and a glass sandwich design. To cut down the costs further, we may see a 6.1-inch LCD display, a glass sandwich design along with an aluminum frame instead of stainless steel. We expect the iPhone XC to come in multiple colors as well.
The 2018 series of the iPhone expect to have a few extra colors options. That will be for the second time we will see Apple experimenting on this. Last time we got to see the iPhone 5C, getting the colorful treatment from Apple. According to the rumors, Apple will be treating the most affordable iPhone with a 6.1-inch LCD display, with these new colors.
We expect the two OLED iPhone to have Space Gray, White, and Rose Gold color options. Space gray color may add up the metallic gold stainless finish to the borders, and around the camera modules. The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will get multiple color options to appeal to a wider range of audience perhaps.
The iPhone X from last year was priced higher than our expectations. Even at the $999 price tag, Apple was able to shell out a lot by selling the iPhone X. This year, however, the Cupertino giant will price the new iPhones more aggressively. As per reports, the three iPhones are expected to start at the following prices:
6.1″ iPhone 9 model will cost €800/£700/$700
5.8″ iPhone Xs model will cost €910/£800/$800
6.5″ iPhone Xs (Plus/Max) model will cost €1.150/£999/$999
The most expensive iPhone XS Max will cost the same as the last year’s iPhone X. We hope the $700 iPhone to appeal more customer’s than the other two iPhones this year.
Face ID 2.0
Last year Face ID 1.0 was great, but it had a few issues especially in low light scenarios. This year we expect Apple to launch the new iPhones with the second generation of the current Face ID system. The current Face ID is the most secure system but unlocking the iPhone takes a lot of time. The Face ID 1.0 doesn’t work in the landscape modes.
under-screen fingerprint scanner won’t come until 2020
We expect the Face ID 2.0, to have a biometric authentication mechanism that’s every bit as secure as Face ID, and hopefully pretty fast too.
According to the popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will not make a return to Apple’s own, Touch ID system. He adds that the under-screen fingerprint scanner technology will not be seen even in the iPhones from the next year.
The iOS 12 is not something we are expecting, but this is something definite. Apple will launch the new iPhones along with the iOS 12 which brings along a bunch of cool new features and performance improvement.
We saw the AirPower Mat at the 2017 Apple event. Ever since the announcement we never got to see the availability of this technology up for sales. Now, we can expect the AirPower Mat to be available for sales at this 2018 event.
The AirPower Mat lets you wirelessly charge all of your iDevices all at once. The iPhones are capable of showing the charging/battery status of all the devices currently on the mat.
The AirPowe Mat will support the 2017/2018 iPhones, Apple Watch and the AirPods with the new charging case.
2018 iPad Pro’s
We expect Apple to refresh the iPad series of 2018 with new iPads to show off. The iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) shows off a symmetrical screen bezels on all four sides, rounded display corners, and no Home button anywhere. That suggests iPhone X like 3D Face Unlock to employee more screen, to play around with the phablet.
Other iPad 2018 series include an Apple A11X Bionic SoC and IPS LCD 120 Hz True-tone displays.
Series 4 Apple Watch
Now, lastly, we expect Apple to launch the new Series 4 Apple Watch. The watch will be larger with a higher resolution display. We expect a 15% increase in size in comparison to the last year’s Apple watch series 3.
According to the Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, we can expect better battery life and a power efficient S4 chipset. The increase in screen size will enable rich content watch faces, or to say a total of eight complications both inside and outside the analog watch face itself.
The watch will have improved speakers and will support LTE. You can use the same old straps from the series 3 with this new Series 4 Apple Watch.
The 2018 Apple event is going to be one of the longest going Apple iPhone event. We have a lot more to get unvieled at this event, than just the three new iPhones. So, does all these things revive back your love for the 2018 iPhone event? Share you Apple love in the comments section below.
