Apple unveils new MacBook Air with Retina Display


The rumors about the new MacBook Air were true. Well, the new thin & light MacBook Air is now official, and this may be the best we’ve seen from Apple in years.


Speaking of the internals on the new MacBook Air, it packs in a 13.3″ 2560×1600 Retina Display with 50% narrower bezels than its predecessor. Also, there exists a new modern-looking design on the screen with glass coverage up to the edges. The screen is now fuller and brighter with 48% more color, and the FaceTime camera is still at the top.

The next welcoming change on the new MacBook Air is the Touch ID sensor. Well, the touch ID enables the T2 chip inside the MacBook Air. Now, this ensures faster software loading speeds and enables fly data encryption for the SSD. Also, the T2 chip enables the Hey Siri feature on this MacBook Air.

The SSDs on the new MacBook Air gets upgraded up to 1.5TB of storage, and it will go along with up to 16GB of RAM. Further, these laptop comes along with a new 8th generation dual-core Intel Core i5. Apple claims that this new MacBook Air comes along with 12 hours of battery life while doing web browsing and 13 hours when playing movies off iTunes.

Note that the keyboard on these new devices shares the same 4th generation butterfly type technology from the MacBook Pro models. Also, the trackpad now comes along with a new Force Touch, and it has 20% more surface area now. Apple says that the new speakers on the MacBook Air are now 25% wider with more dynamic range than its predecessor.

Ports Selection

For the port selections on this laptop, the MacBook Air has two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Well, this enables you to connect a 5K display or even an external GPU to the new MacBook. The MacBook Air now comes with recycled Aluminum and weighs 17% less than its predecessor. Its 10% thinner at 15.6 mm, and it weighs just 2.75 pounds.
