Xiaomi announces Mi Mix 5G with Snapdragon 855 SoC for €599

Xiaomi is keeping on its promise to bring its first 5G phone in Barcelona. While the phone looks still the same, it has got a new SoC along with 5G connectivity. Today, the director of product management at Xiaomi, Donovan Sung, unveiled the phone at Palau de Congressos. Xiaomi wants to use a simple naming for the phone, and so they call it Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G.

To achieve gigabit speeds, Xiaomi implements a Snapdragon X50 modem by Qualcomm. In my opinion, the modem will be a game changer for the smartphones experience in future. Anyways, the Mi Mix 3 5G

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G has a 6.4” AMOLED screen with FHD+ (1080 x 2160) resolution. The display has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and Xiaomi claims a massive 93.4% screen-to-body ratio on the smartphone. The rear part of the smartphone is mounted on a magnetic slider. The slider hides a dual camera setup as a part of selfie cameras.

The Mix 3 runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top of it and has a 3,200 mAh battery. Also, the handset comes along with a Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0+ support, to enhance the charging experience on the handset. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC along with 6GB/8GB of configuration for China.

Xiaomi is a convincing phone, and at €599 it’s not a massive price bump. It is definitely a sweet spot, and in my opine, the company is heading in the right direction. Anyways, the phone has got two colors – Onyx Black or Sapphire Blue. The internal configuration of the phone is 6/64 for the base variant.

The Xiaom Mi Mix 3 5G will arrive on Mi.com, select Mi stores, and key retailers by the starting of May. The 5G partners of 5G on phone will be –
