Apple iPhone 2018 trio is the first line up from the company that comes with the versatility of dual SIM functionality. While some regions like Hongkong and China gets an option of dual SIM tray, other markets have an option for an eSIM that goes along with the regular nano-SIM.
Though it’s pleasant to play with new technologies, the market od eSIM cards are not vast. In countries like India and the US, the important carries don’t offer an option for eSIM since the feature isn’t quite ready for the masses. The dual-SIM configuration on the new iPhones in the current state do not Verizon’s LTE network. Networks instead fall back on Verizon’s legacy CDMA network. Well, this means that areas with LTE-only coverage from Verizon will suffer from no networks on the new iPhones.
Note that Verizon is working with Apple to solve this issue. An article by 9to5Mac confirms that the dual SIM activations will become available as soon as in early December. We expect the update to arrive with iOS 12.1.1. Also, other carriers will catch up with the eSIM support by the time Verizon fixes all the issues.
