The Sony Xperia 1 is finally unveiled, and it supersedes the XZ Premium phones with umpteen innovation in features. The phone packs in the world’s first ever 4K OLED display with an extra tall 21:9 aspect ratio. Sony is also catching with the triple camera phones in the market with this phone.
Mark my words! The Xperia X1 is the only phone in the market right now that tries to provide some usefulness, rather than inventing complications. The towering 6.5” CinemaWide display on the phone offers superb colors and contrast. Even more, there exist no notch on the phone plus the X1-style image processing from premium Bravia TVs allows comprehensive color calibration on the phone. The display on Xperia X1 has 3,840 x 1,644px resolution and supports HDR (BT.2020).
Above all, we already have platforms like Amazon and Netflix in the markets that support 21:9 HDR content. The Xperia X1 gives one of the best media consumption experience with its Dolby Atmos sound. The stereo speakers on the phone combine the bottom firing speakers with the ones in the earphones.
If there’s one thing we can rely on Xperia phones, then that is their camera performance. More than half the market makes use of Sony camera modules, so we will not doubt the cameras on the Xperia X1. All three cameras on the rear of the phone are 12MP modules. The primary shooter supports a 1/2.6” sensor along with an f/1.6 lens that makes use of Optical SteadyShot (OIS+EIS) and Dual Pixel autofocus. The remaining cameras on the phone are the telephoto (52mm, 2x telephoto lens) and the ultra-wide lens (16mm, ultra-wide).
The Eye autofocus feature on the Xperia phones gets a deviation from the α division. Instead, it now tracks the subject’s eyes and if the subject leaves the frame, it will reacquire the lock once they come back. Additionally, we now have an all-new CineAlta application. Well, it allows creating cinema grade videos with 24fps recording, color profiles, and project management.
The internals of the phone is flagship-grade as well. Under the hood, there’s a Snapdragon 855 SoC along with 6/64 or 6/128GB of configuration models. One can expand the storage up to 512GB on either model with the help of microSD cards.
The Xperia 1 is powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset with 6GB of RAM. The storage options are 64GB and 128GB, expandable with up to 512GB microSD cards.
Another box that the phone checks are its 3,330mAh battery that charges smartly. What I mean to say is, the phone intelligently charges the phone slow at night with its Battery care and Smart Stamina mode. Even more, the phone supports USB Power Delivery, but the company doesn’t bundle the compatible charger in the box.
Rest, there is a Game Enhancer mode like the ones we have had seen with Huawei and Samsung phones. The phone allows multi-tasking with split screen and has more intelligent features as well.
One can take the Xperia X1 to swim as the phone has got the IP68 certification. Both the front and rear of the phone gets a Gorilla Glass 6 protection as well. The fingerprint reader rests on the side of the Aluminum frame and it’s separate from the Power button.
The Xperia X1 will be available in stores in Late Spring. The exact availability and pricing of the phone are still not unkown.
