Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 got official earlier this month in China for 999 yuan (about $150/Rs. 10,000) for the base configuration. It is the first smartphone from the company that bears a 48MP camera. Redmi is not the first company to implement this camera. Honor View 20 has an identical camera, but the Redmi’s offering is for the budget segment.
The handset is about to go official in India. There’s no mention of an official launch date yet. But, the official Tweet from @RedmiIndia makes us believe that the phone will land Indian markets too. Don’t forget that we’ve got the Samsung competition as well. We still don’t know how Samsung M-series smartphone will sell in Indian markets, but the 48MP camera on Redmi phone is the catch.
Anyways, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a 6.3-inch FHD+ panel with a waterdrop notch and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The handset runs on Snapdragon 660 SoC along with either 3/32GB or 4/64GB of internal configurations. There exists support for the MicroSD slot, and we’ve got dual VoLTE, Wi-Fi ac, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The Redmi Note 7 offers a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4, as well.
The optics of on the phone are impressive with a dual camera setup on the rear. The center of attraction is the 48MP camera Quad Bayer primary camera along with an MP shooter that provides depth information. At the front, we’ve got a 13MP selfie shooter. The handset runs of MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie, and we’ve got Night Sight mode like the Mix 3.
