With Realme U1 the company, Realme is focusing on the 25MP selfie camera nestled in the teardrop notch. The Realme U1 is now official in India, and the young brand Realme has finally arrived with the best midrange smartphone available in the market. Trust me, folks! no other smartphone brand can match the price and productivity on Realme smartphones in the market.
Realme U1 Specifications…
Let’s start with the display. Well, Realme has a fairly large 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with a U-notch. The screen looks identical to the Oppo F9 Pro, and it is a FullHD+ panel, at 2340 x 1080 pixels and a Gorilla Glass 3 finish. The screen covers 90.8% of the front. and the top bezel measures 2.05mm, the side ones are just 1.7mm.
Interestingly, the rear on the Realme U1 is made of acrylic with a special coating to make it look like glass. The advantages of acrylic are that it’s less prone to shattering and is lighter than glass.
Anyways, the Realme U1 is the first handset to arrive with the Helio P70 SoC. The handset comes in two configurations along with 3/4GB of RAM, and 32/64 of onboard storage. You can also expand the memory via external Micro-SD card support.
The MediaTek P70 chipset on the Realme U1 promises 10-30% boost in AI tasks and a 13% improvement on general tasks. The chipset is an octa-core SoC, and it comes along the with 12nm process. Also, the chipset will have support for a Mali-G72 GPU.
The Realme U1 will offer faster multi-frame noise reduction images and accurate AI detection from the Helio P70 SoC. The pictures on Amazon confirm that the handset will feature a waterdrop notch. Well, it will double up as a face scanner to unlock your handset.
Realme U1 Optics…
For optics, the Realme U1 will carry a dual camera setup on the back. The primary 13MP camera on the handset holds f/2.2 aperture, and the pairing 2MP camera is for depth sensing. The selfie shooter on Realme U1 holds a 25MP sensor, and it is an IMX576 Sony made camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The 0.9µm pixels on the camera bine together for better low-light performance. Well, this fits in well with Realme’s clear selfie-centric marketing angle for the U1. Unfortunately, 4K video capture is not available, not even 1080p/60fps.
To our surprise, Realme is promising games to run at steady 60fps on the handset. Well, it comes to gaming optimizations by Realme on this handsets. Also, the multitasking gets a step further with Sidebars that offers quick access to key apps. The phone launches with Color OS 5.2 (based on Android 8.1 Oreo).
Rest, the handset will bear a huge 3,500 mAh battery. The smartphone will charge at a basic 10W (5V/2A) charging speeds, so nothing so fancy here. There is no USB-C type support, and the headphone jack is still present on the device.
