Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 is now ready for next generation of Android flagships and we’ve already seen it running on the FlexPai. Today, we’ve got the Benchmark runs from the chipset, and it gives us an early peek at the performance on the upcoming Android flagships of 2019.
The Snapdragon 8150 chip is the second commercially available 7nm chipset available for Android now. Interestingly, the chipset has a core setup that counts 2+2+4 instead of the usual 4+4. Well, this reminds us of the Kirin 980, that has a similar three-tier design. The kirin 980 has two cores for burst performance, two for sustained speed, and four little cores to handle the lighter tasks.
The early tests show that the performance on the Snapdragon 8150 easily outdoes the Snapdragon 845 chipset, but it has a long way to capture the Apple A12 bionic chip. Also, the scores by no means surpass the kirin 980.
Note that all these scores are the early scores, and we can’t predict the real performance till the Snapdragon 8150 goes commercial on the Android flagships.
