Ever since we’ve seen the notch on iPhone X, all the smartphone manufacturers are building their smartphones around the notch. While the option to turn off the notch doesn’t exist on the iPhones, the Android smartphones come along with it. The Nokia 6.1 Plus had the feature to remove notch. But, was later removed by Google, since the HMD phone is on the Android One program.
Now, the new update on the Android One program on the Nokia 6.1 Plus allows you to hide the notch. Well, the features work similar to the software on the Pixel devices. I mean, you need to enable the developer’s option on your Nokia 6.1 Plus.
To hide the notch, you need to navigate to the settings, and then tap on the About phone. After this, you need to scroll down to the Sytems section, and then you’ll see the Build number. You then need to tap seven times on the Build Number, and a system message will tell you Developers Mode has now been enabled.
After the developer’s mode is enabled, you’ll find the option under System settings. Well, then you need to open the developer mode, and you’ll see a toggle called Full Bezel that will make a black bar appear as a background for notifications, system clock, etc.
Note that the functionality comes along with the Android Pie. So, if you haven’t installed the OTA, you can update your Nokia 6.1 Plus to disable the notch on your handset.
