The Lenovo Z5 Pro is official, and this is another smartphone from the Chinese manufacturers that have a mechanical slider. While the mechanical slider seems to be similar to the Mi Mix 3 and Honor Magic 2, the Lenovo Z5 Pro has a better screen to body ratio than the rest. Also, the Lenovo Z5 pro is cheaper than the Mix 3 and the Honor Magic 2.
The only let down with the Lenovo Z5 Pro is not so capable Snapdragon 710 that powers the handset. I mean we all were expecting flagship grade hardware from Lenovo, but the company always fails to deliver on our expectations.
Speaking of the rest of the specifications on the Lenovo Z5 Pro, it has a full-screen display that stretches out 6.39″ in diagonally. Well, this is an FHD+ panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 and covers more than 95% of the front panel. The screen on the Lenovo Z5 Pro is Samsung-made, and it has got bezels that are slimmer than the Mi Mix 3.
The Snapdragon 710 inside the handset comes along with 6Gigs of RAM, and 128Gigs of internal storage. We were expecting Lenovo to bring 8Gigs of RAM to its base variant, so here is another bit of disappointment from the company. The Lenovo Z5 Pro supports no microSD card support and comes along with a 3,350 mAh battery. Also, the handset is available in Ceramic Black color only.
The best part of the Lenovo Z5 Pro is the optics that company puts inside the handset. The optics include a dual camera setup on the back where the primary camera is a 16MP (Sony IMX576) main sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The secondary camera on this handset is a Sony IMX519 imager with 24MP resolution. The slider on the handset comes with another dual-camera configuration – 16MP + 8MP for selfies. The setup also includes an infrared sensor for advanced facial recognition.
Rest, the Lenovo Z5 Pro has an under-display finger reader and runs on Android Oreo on top of ZUI 10. All the AI features like power saving mode, camera scene recognition, and game boost mode are available through AI.
