Honor unwraps large 8X and larger 8X Max with dual cams and notches

Honor has become a prime Smartphone brand in China. With a lot of smartphones that Honor launches in China, the new upper midrange Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max are bigger and better.

Honor 8X

The Honor 8X is more powerful of the two, with the new HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. For optics, the Honor 8X offers a dual camera setup on the rear. For primary camera lens, we have got a 20MP camera with f/1.8 aperture, better for low light shots. The secondary camera is a 2MP camera on the rear, and we’ve got a 16MP f/2.0 on the front.

The Honor 8X is large with a massive 6.5-inch 2340x1080px display with a notch identical to the one we have seen in OnePlus 6. Though being massively large, it is smaller than the Honor 8X Max. Besides that, we’ve got 3,750 mAh battery with fast charging and has a triple card slot to accommodate two nano SIM cards as well as a microSD card.

Honor 8X Max

The Honor 8X Max is large, and as the name suggests it is larger than the Honor 8X. With that said, the Honor 8X Max comes with a 7.12-inch 2244x1080px screen with a tiny water drop notch. Inside we’ve got a less powerful Snapdragon 636 chipset with 4GB of RAM. There is an option where the company provides us with a Snapdragon 660 + 6GB model that will go on sale later in October.

The Optics on the Honor 8X Max has a dual cameras set up arrangement. For primary camera lens, we have got a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, better for taking shots in lit conditions. The secondary camera is a 2MP camera on the rear. Rest, for the selfies, we’ve got an 8MP camera with f/2.0 on the front for taking descent selfies.

Pricing and Availability

The Honor 8X and 8X Max will get its first pre-orders starting on September 6. Soon after that, Honor will start shipping the Honor 8X and 8X Max on September 11. The Honor 8X starts at CNY 1,399/€180 for the 4GB/64GB model, CNY 1,599/€200 for a 6GB/64GB model and CNY 1,899/€240 for the top 6GB/128GB model. The Honor 8X Max starts at CNY 1,499/€190 for the 4GB/64GB version and CNY 1,799/€230 for the 4GB/128GB model.
