Vivo made an official announcement of its sub-brand iQOO, two days ago. The company didn’t showcase a device, and neither the official website had anything to show. While we are still questioning the correct pronunciation of the phone, the company is pitching its phone to its partners. Today, the renders for the first iQOO phone appears on Weibo, and it’s a foldable phone.
The renders show the phone that folds open to provide a full-sized tablet. When closed, it will offer a tall display with bezel-less experience. Even more, the phone will fold open in the outward direction. The concept is different from Samsung’s implementation, but it makes more sense.
Anyways, we don’t know the pricing of the phone right now. But, rumors suggest a price tag of above CNY7,000, which is over $1000. The phone doesn’t show any buttons in the renders, so it is still a mystery that what will be final implementation on this phone.
